All is now set for the much awaited Photo Journalist Association of Nigeria (PJAN) Lagos annual symposium and award ceremony which comes up on Friday 20th December 2024.
According to the statement released by PJAN chairperson Princess Alaba Igbaroola, the event will be held at Lagos NUJ secretariat 9A Iyalla street Alausa,Ikeja by 12 noon.
Princess Igbaroola said that the symposium has two themes:
Artificial Intelligence and Photography Interpretation with the guest speaker Dr. Oluseyi Akindeinde (Founder, Hyperspace) while the second guest speaker Dr. Olusola Akeredolu Head Of Department Photography, Yaba College of Technology will deliver a paper on: Technological Advancement and Future of Photography.
The event will also be used to honour some outstanding Nigerians. Some of the award recipients are; the Speaker Lagos State House of Assembly Rt. Honourable Mudashiru Obasa who will be honoured for his exemplary leadership in positioning the Lagos House Of Assembly. Others are; NUJ National President, Comrade Hassan Yahaya and his Deputy, Dr.Abimbola Oyetunde, first female Deputy NUJ National President among others.
The occasion will be chaired by a former Ogun State Governor; Senator Olugbenga Daniel while the Royal Father of the day is HRM Oba Latif Oladimeji Egbeyemi, (Madarikan 1) Ologba of Ogba Kingdom.PJAN hereby extends its invites to all Photo Journalists to be part of this milestone programme.
The one-day symposium and award ceremony is being supported by Dangote Sugar, Mediacraft, Nigerian Breweries, Nestle, Dangote Industry, Egbin Power Project and others.
