The executive members of the Photojournalists Association of Nigeria (PJAN), Lagos Chapter, led by its Chairman, Comrade Bolaji Olasunkanmi, paid a courtesy visit to the head office of Moniepoint Inc. in Lagos on Tuesday, October 27, 2026.

They were received by the Public and Media Relations Lead, Mr. Bemigho Awala, who described the visit as the first of its kind by any media association as a body.

Speaking on the purpose of the visit, the PJAN Chairman Comrade Bolaji Olasunkanmi said it was strategic. He presented the association’s vision and partnership roadmap, calling for a collaborative working relationship with the financial institution.

Olasunkanmi appreciated Moniepoint for its support to individual photojournalists, but noted that PJAN remains the umbrella body for all practising photojournalists across Nigeria, hence the need for an association-level partnership.

According to him, such a partnership would be mutually beneficial, giving Moniepoint enhanced visibility, authentic documentation of its impact stories and stronger public trust through PJAN’s professional image bank and nationwide reach.

He said PJAN, as an umbrella body for professional photojournalists across print, online and broadcast platforms, offers unique value to brands like Moniepoint that are driving change.

Areas of proposed collaboration highlighted by the PJAN Chairman include official coverage of Moniepoint’s CSR and financial inclusion programmes, training, capacity building for members on fintech reporting, the business of photography, and joint campaigns to promote girl-child literacy through visuals.

He also solicited support for PJAN’s upcoming End-of-Year National Discourse scheduled for December.

Awala assured PJAN of the company’s openness to sustainable collaboration, stressing that visual storytelling is key to showcasing the impact of financial inclusion.

PJAN Chairman, Comrade Olasunkanmi described the meeting as fruitful, with assurances of future collaboration.

The visit is part of PJAN’s stakeholder engagement drive to build alliances that advance members’ welfare and elevate photojournalism in Nigeria.
