Chairman of the Council, Mr. Adeleye Ajayi, said the medical check initiative followed recent health-related deaths among members and reflects the union’s commitment to journalists’ welfare. In the past three months, about six prominent members of the council have lost their lives to health-related cases.

He urged members to prioritise regular medical check-ups, noting that early detection of illnesses increases chances of timely treatment.
